CARL ANDRE
Rise, 2011
Hot-rolled steel plates
6’ (H) x 6’ (W) x 49’ (L) OverallSarah’s curating a show about the expanded uses of graphite (which has traditionally been associated with drawing and other works on paper) in contemporary art, and Carl Andre plays a big role.
And I know a lot of you will be like grumble grumble this isn’t art grumble grumble but whatever. I like it.
My only “grumble grumble” is that Carl Andre probably killed Ana Mendieta and was acquitted… as far as I’m concerned he’s the OJ Simpson of minimalist art.
